The Emirates authority has awarded the specifications and measurements, yesterday, five cosmetic companies a sign of "halal", after verifying their conformity with the UAE system of standards Halal, the total number of companies that have been marked in this sector, since mid-last year to date, has reached 17 local and global companies.
On the sidelines of the second session of the global Platform for the halal industry held in Dubai, the Commission stated that the global platform for the halal industry in the state has been transformed into a specialized international initiative involving various fields in the halal industry.
In detail, the Secretary of State, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Standards and Metrology authority, said the specifications of Dr. Rashid Ahmed bin Fahad, "the value of the care and cosmetics sector worldwide will reach about $213 billion by 2021, which makes it more important for companies operating in the sector to obtain a (halal) mark, thereby facilitating access to Islamic markets.
He said in a press statement on the sidelines of the second session of the global platform of the halal industry, which held in Dubai, yesterday, under the slogan «Pushing the future of the Halal cosmetics industry towards the world», it's «Finally approved conversion the global platform for the halal industry in the state, to a specialized international initiative involving various fields in the halal industry», explaining that «include the food, hospitality and halal tourism sectors, as well as cosmetics and personal care».
