Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology was established in 2001 to be the only entity in the United Arab Emirates is responsible for the various standardization activities in the United Arab Emirates .
It is the responsibilities of the main body to prepare and issue the UAE standard specifications , as well as the adoption of international standards and consumer protection , the environment and the national market and strengthen the economy. In addition, The Commission is responsible for granting the Emirates Quality Mark for national products and certification of goods shoddy, and monitoring the implementation of the approved standard specifications .
As a full member of the body in the ISO, they develop knowledge sharing standards with all stakeholders to ensure cope with the standards in the United Arab Emirates to the international scientific developments , including the standards ISO. Taking into account the interests of an integrated social, economic , health and security of the public, the Commission makes sure that the services and products enjoy quality and compatible with the standards adopted . In addition, the Commission publishes various awareness activities related to standards through several publications .
